Any idea how to contact a human support person at Facebook?
My wife has tried creating an account using several email addresses and each time within minutes of creating the account it gets locked within minutes due to breaking some rule. She then proceeds to send info proving it’s her but each time that ends up with a permanent ban. At no time is there a way for her to contact support to figure out why.
She’s in a couple organizations that do all social business in FB, so SOL.
The answer is straightforward. Don't use Google Authenticator (that particular app). Use any of the cloud-backed-up TOTP (that's what Google Authenticator is - a TOTP code generator) applications, such as LastPass or Authy.
Or, save offline (or even print off) the 2FA setup 2D barcodes/ keys each time you add an account to Google Authenticator.
Please, update this article - less scary up-front, more "I learned my lesson, this is how you avoid the problem". Right now, this article will scare some people away from 2FA, no matter how strongly you (very late in the article) indicate how necessary it is.
