Edit note: I've said sometimes that God is a journalist; it is quite remarkable how things line up sometimes in the storytelling business. I'm still in deep mourning over the loss of my pet Rusty, so it was with great unease that I began work on today's podcast, about a puppy scam victim. I didn't pick the story; producer Sarah Binny found the victim, who had also recently said goodbye to the family dog. I had a lump in my throat the whole time I interviewed her, and I almost declined the story, but as I hope you'll see, I actually think it was the perfect time for me to tell it.
